About

In a world of sports, athletes and future all stars, True Tomboy is a small company offering fresh, unique, creative and sometimes even one-of-a-kind items for sport lovers.

True Tomboy is an adventurous company, its ordinary beginnings were entirely unintentional. I was a stay at home mom for my then infant daughter. I was always looking for little sport items for her, since I am an avid sport lover myself. Absolutely nothing was out there for little ones and also, adults, too. One day I decided to design and make t-shirts for her to wear. I have a BFA in communication design and before she was born, I worked as a graphic designer. Immediately, my hobby company started to expand beyond graphic tee's and designed coffee cups. I found out modern, stylish and trendy sports items for girls and even mommy's were desired. In August 2009, my fashion sport jewelry was established for the everyday athlete and their mom, coaches and friends. The rest has been a journey, that is still very much in process.

Some of my designed items are manufactured and shipped from a third party, CafePress and Zazzle. Since this is a slow process, I one day want to fully control all of True Tomboy, down to putting on the last daily postage stamp. Some products are still handmade by me. The sterling silver and pure copper jewelry, luggage tags, magnets, push pins and sport bows. Everything sold through my ETSY shop passes through my fingers and my company is managed around the needs of my two sweet and energetic children, born May '05 and December '09. It is my hope that you will find those items purchased are not only enjoyable, but also thoughtfully constructed skillfully and packaged stylishly with craftsmanship. Since the day True Tomboy was established, it has led me to believe that everything is truly possible and taking the next step towards the pursuit of our dreams. True Tomboy is an inspiration for everyone, not only for you sport lovers. Strive for your strengths and pursue the aspirations of your everyday vision. Don't ever stop daydeaming.

On a personal note, I am a graduate from the highly competitive and one of the best college programs in the southwest for graphic design, The University of North Texas. I have a BFA in Communication Design and have worked in the industry for the last 11 years. Before staying at home with my daughter, I worked for design firms designing corporate logos and advertising, in-house design designing DVD packaging, DVD menu graphics, logos and advertising, and in my free time various freelance work. Over the course of my career, my work has been recognized in various industry organizations, such as The DSVC (Dallas Society of Visual Communications). Also, I am a former NCAA volleyball player, so I love sports, and I love to teach my daughter every sport possible. She is definitely my future all-star!
